Awaken Oil is one of those products I almost did not realize would become such a favorite.

My brother-in-law roasts the coffee for me, and that makes this oil feel personal before the bottle is ever filled. It starts with fresh-roasted, organically grown coffee and real vanilla beans infused into a base of cold-pressed jojoba oil and grass-fed/finished tallow. From there, I blend in emu oil, rosehip seed oil, castor oil, olive-derived squalane, vitamin E, and black seed oil. It may look like a simple multipurpose oil at first, but every part of this formula has a reason for being there.

We have a hard time keeping Awaken in stock because people who try it tend to love it. I love it on my face and arms because it gives my skin that soft, nourished, cared-for finish without feeling like a heavy body butter. My husband loves it for his beard because it helps coarse facial hair feel softer and more groomed without smelling like cologne or sitting on top of the beard like a waxy styling product.

The coffee is not here as a gimmick. Coffee is naturally rich in polyphenols, especially chlorogenic acid compounds, and coffee-derived ingredients have become really interesting in cosmetic research because of their antioxidant activity and skin-care potential. At the same time, I want to be honest about what this product is and what it is not. Awaken is not a caffeinated skincare product, and I do not add isolated caffeine. Caffeine is much more water-soluble than oil-soluble, so I do not market an oil infusion as a caffeine extract. I use the coffee for its roasted botanical character, its polyphenol-rich ingredient story, and the warm, grounding aroma that comes through naturally in the oil.

The base matters just as much as the coffee. Jojoba oil is technically a liquid wax made mostly of wax esters, which is part of why it feels so different from heavier plant oils. It gives the formula a smoother glide and makes it feel more balanced on the face, hair, beard, and body. Jojoba helps Awaken feel like an oil you can actually use in daily life instead of one that only sounds good on paper.

Tallow brings the richer, more ancestral side of the formula. I use grass-fed/finished tallow because I love its fatty acid profile and the way it brings depth to a skin-care product. In Awaken, the tallow is not meant to make the oil feel thick or heavy. It gives the formula a more nourishing lipid profile while the lighter oils help keep the finished blend comfortable enough for face, body, hair, and beard care.

Emu oil is one of the ingredients I reach for again and again because of its fatty acid profile and the way it behaves on the skin. It is naturally rich in unsaturated fatty acids, especially oleic acid, with linoleic acid also contributing to the overall profile. I originally became interested in emu oil because it does not feel like it just sits on top of the skin. It has a more absorbent, skin-compatible feel, and it helps bridge the richness of tallow with the lighter glide of jojoba, rosehip, and squalane. I use it sparingly because it is expensive, but I use it on purpose because it helps the whole formula feel more comfortable, more elegant, and more useful across different parts of the body.

Rosehip seed oil brings a lighter, more complexion-focused side to the blend. It is rich in linoleic acid and alpha-linolenic acid, and it also brings naturally occurring carotenoids and antioxidant compounds that make sense in a face and body oil. I like it here because it helps Awaken feel appropriate for facial use instead of behaving like a heavy hair oil.

Castor oil has a completely different purpose. It is rich in ricinoleic acid, which gives it that thicker, more conditioning feel people often associate with hair, scalp, and beard care. In Awaken, castor oil gives the formula a little more grip so it can be smoothed through dry ends, worked into a beard, or used during scalp massage without needing a separate product. I do not use it to make hair-growth claims. I use it because it makes sense for conditioning hair and helping the oil stay where you put it.

Olive-derived squalane gives the blend a silky, lightweight finish. It helps soften the feel of the formula and keeps it from becoming too dense, which matters when an oil is meant to work on the face as well as the body. Vitamin E, or tocopherol, helps support the stability of the oil blend and adds to the antioxidant-focused formula story. Black seed oil rounds everything out with a deeper botanical profile. It contains compounds like thymoquinone and has a long history in traditional care, but in Awaken I use it cosmetically for skin-conditioning and ingredient depth, not as a treatment claim.

The vanilla beans soften the roasted coffee aroma and make the oil feel warm, comforting, and grounded without synthetic fragrance or essential oils. Nothing about the scent is built from perfume. It is simply what is left from real coffee, real vanilla, and purposeful oils.

Awaken Oil is not intended to treat acne, hair loss, dandruff, eczema, scars, stretch marks, inflammation, wounds, infection, or any medical skin or scalp condition. It is a coffee-infused multipurpose oil made for soft skin, smoother-feeling hair, beard care, dry-feeling areas, and everyday routines that feel simple but still deeply intentional.

  • Infused with fresh-roasted, organically grown coffee roasted by my brother-in-law
  • Made with real vanilla beans, not synthetic fragrance or flavor oil
  • Designed for face, hair, beard, scalp, and body use
  • Uses a thoughtful blend of jojoba, tallow, emu oil, rosehip seed oil, castor oil, squalane, vitamin E, and black seed oil
  • Warm coffee and vanilla aroma comes from the ingredients themselves, not fragrance oil
  • Softens the feel of dry skin, coarse beard hair, dry ends, and overworked areas
  • Works as a lightweight body oil, facial oil, beard oil, hair-end oil, or scalp massage oil
  • Made without essential oils, synthetic fragrance, fragrance oil, or hidden scent blends
  • One of our hardest products to keep in stock because people who try it tend to come back for it
  • Made in small batches in Houston, Texas

For Face

Apply 1 to 3 drops to slightly damp skin and press gently into the face and neck. Start with less than you think you need, especially if you are acne-prone, oily, or new to facial oils.

For Body

Apply to slightly damp skin after showering or washing. I especially love it on my arms because it gives the skin a soft, nourished finish without needing a heavy body butter.

For Beard

Apply a few drops to the hands, rub together, then work through the beard and the skin underneath. Use a beard brush or comb to distribute the oil evenly and soften the look of coarse facial hair.

For Hair Ends

Rub one small drop between your palms and lightly smooth over dry ends. Use very little at first. Too much oil can make hair look weighed down.

For Scalp Massage

Massage a small amount into the scalp before washing, then shampoo thoroughly. This is a conditioning step, not a hair-growth treatment.

For Layering

Use Awaken Oil before a balm or salve when you want a richer finish. For lighter routines, use it on its own.

  • Golden Jojoba Oil (Cold-Pressed): Mimics the skin’s natural sebum to balance oil production and support moisture retention.
  • Grass-Fed/Finished Beef Tallow: Rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K to nourish and strengthen the skin barrier.
  • Coffea arabica (Fresh-Roasted) Beans: Infused for their antioxidant compounds, including polyphenols and chlorogenic acid, which help support collagen, circulation, and skin clarity.
  • Vanilla planifolia Beans: Provide a soft, naturally comforting aroma while delivering antioxidant support without added fragrance.
  • Organic Emu Oil: Deeply penetrating and hydrating without clogging pores — supports skin repair and absorption of other ingredients.
  • Cold-Pressed Rosehip Seed Oil: Naturally high in vitamin A (retinoic acid) to support skin renewal, elasticity, and tone.
  • Cold-Pressed Castor Seed Oil: Contains ricinoleic acid to help soften dry skin, support circulation, and nourish the scalp.
  • Olive-Derived Squalane: A lightweight emollient that hydrates deeply and reinforces the skin barrier.
  • Wheat-Derived Vitamin E (Tocopherol): Offers antioxidant protection while helping to preserve the freshness and stability of the oil.
  • Cold-Pressed Black Seed Oil: Traditionally used to soothe irritation and support balanced, healthy skin with thymoquinone and other potent compounds.

Scent Note

Awaken Oil has a warm roasted coffee and vanilla aroma from real coffee and vanilla bean infusion. It does not contain essential oils, synthetic fragrance, fragrance oil, or hidden scent blends.

Coffee Note

The coffee used in Awaken is infused into the oil base. Coffee has an interesting polyphenol-rich skin-care story, especially around chlorogenic acids and antioxidant research, but this product is still a cosmetic oil, not a treatment product.

Caffeine Note

Awaken Oil is not marketed as caffeinated skincare. We do not add isolated caffeine, and an oil infusion is not the same as a caffeine extract. The coffee is used for its roasted botanical character, aroma, and coffee polyphenol-inspired ingredient story.

Texture Note

This is an oil, so a little goes a long way. Start with a few drops and add more only if needed. It should leave skin or hair feeling soft, not greasy.

Hair Note

Awaken can be used on dry ends, beard hair, or for scalp massage, but it is not a hair-growth product and is not intended to treat hair loss, dandruff, scalp conditions, or thinning hair.

Face Note

If using on the face, apply sparingly and patch test first. Acne-prone or congestion-prone skin should introduce any oil slowly and use only a small amount.

Wheat-Derived Vitamin E Note

This formula contains wheat-derived tocopherol, also known as vitamin E. Avoid this product if you need to avoid wheat-derived cosmetic ingredients.

Patch Test

Patch test before regular use, especially if your skin is sensitive, reactive, acne-prone, or easily irritated.

Medical Note

Awaken Oil is not intended to treat acne, eczema, scars, stretch marks, hair loss, dandruff, inflammation, infection, wounds, or any medical skin, hair, or scalp condition.

Shelf Life

Best used within 9 to 12 months of opening. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct heat, sunlight, and humidity.
