If there is a natural aroma, it comes from the ingredients themselves, never from essential oils, synthetic fragrance, or added scent blends. The result is simple, intentional skincare that feels calm, not overpowering.

Meet the Makers

We’re Josh and Melissa, a husband-and-wife team who never set out to start a skincare brand. We were simply trying to make better options for our own family.

Our Simple Things started with real needs in our own home. I dealt with the relentless itch of PUPPs during pregnancy. One of our kids struggled with eczema-prone skin. Josh needed something for the skin under his beard that did not smell like a spa, sting, or feel harsh.

So we started making what we could not find: essential-oil-free skincare: tallow balms, herbal salves, non-comedogenic face oils, nourishing masks, lip care, and simple daily skincare made without synthetic fragrance or hidden scent blends.

What began as our own search for simpler skincare became Our Simple Things: hormone-safe skincare rooted in ancestral simplicity, made with purpose for everyday use.

I love the Rosebud Tallow. It does not have a scent really, but I prefer that. I have seen a huge difference in my neck and around my eyes. I put it on at night and over my face and neck, my face feels hydrated every morning. I even use it on my nail cuticles during the winter.
