Orange Clove started with the idea of a soap that felt warm and gently scrubby without needing essential oils or heavy fragrance. It was wintertime and as I made orange clove tea with my children, I decided I’d love to capture the goodness of these ingredients for my skin.

I wanted something that could be used when skin needs a little polishing, especially on hands, arms, legs, or areas that feel like they need a more refreshing wash. The orange peel and clove give the bar a light botanical texture, while the tallow keeps the lather creamy and simple.

The aroma is soft. Not loud. Not spicy in a candle-store kind of way. It has a faint sweetness to it, and my son says it smells a little like a cookie, which feels pretty accurate.

This is a simple tallow soap with real plant ingredients, made for cleansing, light exfoliation, and a warm little moment at the sink or in the shower.

Lather with warm water and use as a hand or body soap. For light exfoliation, massage gently over skin using small circular motions, then rinse well.

Do not scrub aggressively. Let the botanicals do the work gently. To help the bar last longer, keep it on a draining soap dish and allow it to dry between uses.
